Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/21 18:08 Finger painting with the kids. This is a yoga practice also.

I loved doing that. Now we do less finger painting and more mutual psychoanalysing.

I got a new yoga dvd today ,its called ''the serpent power''.
This sounds very interesting! I'm guessing it's about Kundalini energy? ....

I realy had withdrawals from not doing my yoga,I at the same time enjoyed catching up on some work too.

This is sooooo true. I go through the same thing.

Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/22 10:32 hi corinne((hugs))

well last night I was very wound up,the kids are being so difficult at the moment.
I get in a good positive state, then they are constantly difficult....sigh...a few days of this and I was feeling pretty tense.they dont wanna eat orn sleep good...so you can imagine how that leaves them.
I talked myself to the mat last night...this is a time I need the mat most i kept saying to myself.

I could feel the tension in my bdy...I concentrated on breathing alott, just to get away from thinking.

so today is a better day...

.this is a time I need the mat most i kept saying to myself.

You are so wise to understand this! Ironically, it's at these times when people abandon their practice. But, you're right, f you can just get yourself to the mat you will feel better. ("The worse you feel, the better yoga will make you feel".) You might not achieve inner peace and deep serenity, but you will regroup and be more able to cope well with the demanding situations before you. The inner peace will come later, along with deeper self respect for having handled difficulties well.

Your kids are so lucky to have you as a mom.

Oh, I heard this great story about the Dalai Lama. He was being interviewed and was asked how long he does his spiritual practices every day. He said, (at the time), "three hours". Then the reporter asked, "What if you're having a really busy day?" "Then," the Dalai Lama answered, "I practice for four hours."

Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/22 18:44 I love reading what you just wrote.thankx for that.I am too happy that I was able to take myself to the mat.and boy did I feel better after,I was a little flitty when it came to corpse pose, but everytime my mind wandered i came back to ''ommm'' and breathing.
sometimes I must admit I get tired of my own thoughts..sounds crazy I know

3 hours a day of practise huh...wow!!!!I must admit alott of the most amazing dancers practise 4 hours a day.
it is my goal, when it comes natural of course.

I must admit, the more I practise my routine, the quicker the time passes.
the dvd I got wasnt very good in all honesty,I am origonally practising with yogazone, and yoga bugs for the kids,we are very very happy with that.

had a good chuck out session today,we finally threw out our old tv,I found myself saying, end of an era...and felt new brighter energy flowing through the house.

my spine feels long, when i bend to pick up something,I stretch ,occasionally theres a relieving little clunk or crack and I feel the energy release, awesome!!!!

This is great. Don't you just love it when that happens? I get that a lot in my neck and upper spine now. Didn't use to be able to hold my arms up for more than 10 - 20 seconds without agony. Now it's like floating on air - and, often, lots of click, crack... things loosening up and readjusting on the way to a more vibrant self!

This is good information. Thank you.

Yeahhhhh! You know, Tribal Babe, it sounds to me like you're in the throws (forgive the pun or not) of re-inventing yourself, discovering a whole new, more energized, brighter person under the stuff you're now proverbially chucking. I love it!

Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/24 21:46 Well, Tribal Babe, that's yoga too - listening to your body and working in harmony with what it's telling you. Like "Tribal, I'm soooo freeekin tired today, if you twist me into a pretzel pose, you're never gonna come out of it alive!" LOL

Sometimes, when you're really really tired, it's smart not to do complex or demanding exercises. You'll just get injured.

I hope you're feeling more energized by the time you read this.

Love that you enjoy the YogaZone. I hear many good things about that series.

Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/25 13:32 hey there Corinne

I know exsacly what you mean.My body today is back to its happy self,I am happy though as it means I realy must have worked hard!I didnt even realise at the time!
I tend to go into a kind of trance whenever I excercise or dance.
ah the yogazone,I truely love it,my sister just started using iot too,she is very happy, the way they take their time and are so soothing...I am breathing deeply just thinking about it!

It was hard not to be able to do much physically the last couple of days.my class even got cancelled...so I accepted what life was asking me to do.I have done a little callanetics and at the moment I am very much into walking.

the boys appreciate a long walk too.

tonight will be another long session,I have my workshops coming up in september so I realy want to get into great shape for that.I will aim for 3/4 hours this evening, then light5 excercise following couple of days, just until my body adjusts.

I dont know how you feel about yogalates corinne?

I will be adding that to my routine soon, she breaks it up into bite sized chaunks so I can add a little to my evening workout

Re:my daily yoga practise - 2007/07/25 17:37 Tribal Babe, I just love the way you go for it!

Yogalates - I hear it's great. And it makes sense to me. I took a pilates class for a semester and I can see how yoga and pilates go very well together.

One of my yoga students is a pilates teacher, she finds the combination very powerful.

and at the moment I am very much into walking.

the boys appreciate a long walk too.

Wish I could get you and your kids over here to BC. It's a walker's paradise. We're in what is basically a rain forest, with trees well over a hundred feet tall, ferns growing beneath them that come up to my thighs, birds going nuts trying to cram in as much living as they can! I love BC. But don't tell anyone about it. We don't want all 6.6 billion of us here!
